It’s no secret that Sky Sirens seriously loves cats! With countless porcelain cats decorating the glamorous studio space, many of our Sirens go home to the real deal. Come and virtually meet a handful of our flirty felines!
Who is this cosy queen?
This is Nance, a Domestic Short Hair cat that is full of attitude. I rescued her from the little RSPCA cages at Petbarn in 2018 - she was three years old, and had been waiting to be adopted since she was 6 months old. She has a variety of nicknames but the most commonly used is definitely Pants (originating from Nance Pants).
Describe her personality.
Nance is the feline version of me. She is extremely shy around other people - even hiding in the cupboard whenever someone comes over until they leave. But when it’s just the two of us, she’s the boss and she knows it. She can be very sassy (she recently slapped me as I was fainting!), but inside she is a very sweet, affectionate little kitty. I am Deaf - so I can’t hear her purring. I pop my hand under her chin so I can feel her purring instead. Over time, she’s learned that it is something that makes me happy, so when she curls up into me, she will rest her head on my hand and purr.
What are her favourite things?
Nance loves to bake in the sun! She’s always finding sunny spots to sleep (like her window hammock!), but her absolute favourite part of life is to go outside for concrete rollies. I supervise her outside time to keep her and local wildlife safe -and she spends her entire outside time rolling on the sun-kissed concrete!
She is a connoisseur of getting in the way - endeavouring to sit on any and all things that I am focusing on other than her, from laptops, to craft kits, to study notes and even to my dinner.
Nance feels safe in small, enclosed and warm spaces. So, every night, she will come up to me, tucked into bed, to ask for me to let her under the blanket. She will climb under, and curl up in between my legs and purr. She will even wake me up in the middle of the night to let her in. I love my special night-time cuddles with my darling kitter.
Who is this cutie?
This is Winston, also known as Winnie, Winnebago, Mister Man and Crinkle Toes! Maddie met Winston when she began fostering the tiny 7 week old kitten. She quickly fell in love with her beautiful Foster Fail, and he has been part of her family ever since!
Describe his personality.
Just like his owner, Winston is a loveable goof that lights up the room. He flops onto his back and purrs very loudly when he gets tummy rubs. In the mornings, he takes matters into his own hands - giving Maddie a boop on the nose to wake her up.
While other cats are generally quiet and agile, Winston will stomp around loudly. Knowing what he wants, and knowing how to get it - Winston forcefully head-butts your hand for pats. A classic kitty tease, Winston likes meeting new people but likes playing hard to get even more.
What are Winston’s favourite things?
Winston loves so many things! Food, chasing his toys, sleeping in his basket, cheek scritches, scratching posts, exploring the outdoors and foster kittens!!
Who is this fluffy girl?
Cholula (like the hot sauce!).
Describe their personality.
Cholula is Nicoletta’s indoor rescue gal - she’s timid to strangers, but very affectionate and cuddly to people that she knows and trusts. She is not sassy at all - which is why she is kept inside. She is, however, very vocal; chirping like a tiny bird to say hi to her owners in the morning or when she wakes up from a nap.
When she wants attention, Cholula will walk up to you and paw at your face (or anything that she can reach). She will fall asleep resting her chin on your arm too. Occasionally, you even catch her cuddling with her big brother - a staffy/kelpie cross.
What are her favourite things?
She loves to roll around on her back and get belly pats! A connoisseur of pats and affection, Cholula will head-butt your hand for pats - even though she looks like a dolphin when she stands on her hind legs! She loves to curl up and sleep in Nicoletta’s dirty laundry basket.
Lady Von Fluff
Who is this ball of fluff?
This is Lady Von Fluff - also known as Greegle.
Describe her personality?
Greegle is a shy girl, that loves cuddles and affection when she gets to know you. She is a gentle giant of 10kg and still growing. She knows when you’re sad or sick and she will comfort you by letting you spoon her like a human. Despite her resting grumpy face, on the inside she’s a softie.
What are her favourite things?
Greegle is obsessed with food, and playing in her water bowl. Being a Maine Coon, she loves water! So she screams “harrroee!” (Her word for water) in the bathroom until we fill her bowl with fresh water. Her favourite time of the day is dinner, and she acts like a gremlin until she’s fed (scratches furniture, starts brawls with her brother, stares angrily etc.)
Lucifer
Who is this dashing gentleman?
This is Lucifer, also known as Screm.
Describe his personality.
Lucy is a mischievous boy that loves to play. He’s extremely outgoing, curious and social. He loves attention from strangers and will always come and say hi! He knows exactly how cute he is, and rolls around on the floor making cute poses when he knows he’s being looked at.
What are his favourite things?
Lucy loves the forbidden fruit. Basically any cupboard, room, thing or area that he’s not allowed to be in (or on) he will try to interfere. He also an avid poop cover-up-er and spends at least fifteen minutes after ever bathroom session thoroughly covering his poops.
Who is this fluffy ball of grey?
This is Lore (AKA the fluffy scorpion AKA the handsome floof AKA the tiny terrorist AKA my moon-eyed witchboy).
Describe his personality.
Lore is a very confident, relaxed cat who remains supremely unconcerned in the face of new people and loud noises. He’s also the chattiest, chirpiest lil boy that Farrah has ever met! He constantly prances around, letting her know exactly how his day has been, when he thinks dinner should be served, and exactly what he thinks of Farrah’s life choices!
He meows, chirps, squeaks, burbles and purrs throughout his waking hours (and often during Farrah’s sleeping hours too!).
He is currently employed as the Fly Catcher General of the household and he takes his work very seriously, leaving no fly uncaught on his watch.
What are his favourite things?
Lore’s absolute favourite thing in the whole world is his green ball, followed by pushing Farrah’s head off of her pillow while she sleeps so he can claim his rightful position as King of the Bed.
